About A K Auto Services

Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 8 am–6 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach A K Auto Services at (703) 560-7700; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 112 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto repair shops in Fairfax.

Fairfax is in Virginia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Fairfax follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This is my 4th time using AK Auto over a 6-year period and every single time it is an exceptional experience. Mr. Ki and staff provide fair pricing, extremely quick service, and a seamless process. I have experienced nothing but high quality mechanic work from this shop and will certainly use them again in the future. I have had my Kia and Toyota serviced here multiple times.

Brought my car to fix front bumper. Price seemed little bit high but I wanted to get it done in one day and also do oil change, tire rotation, and safety inspection all done at once. So I decided to get it done here since another place that goes through the insurance directly wouldn't be able to do that. One the day of the appointment, I called before bringing the car in to make sure everything is in good place. I was told that the guy who does the painting is on vacation so they are not ready. I had to get the safety inspection seperately because of this. I said it is okay and brought the car in on a different day. I told him that I also want the tire rotation and oil change done for the second time when I dropped my car off. I also had to make sure he has my number and asked him to call me back when it is done. He never called me back. I called him because I needed the car and the shop was closing in an hour. Thankfully the car was done and bumper was fixed well but he had forgotten about the oil change and tire rotation. So I will have to take the car in to another place. I would have gone with the company with the insurance coverage if I knew it would have been such a hassle.

Mr. Kim is very professional nice and honest. He recommends only services that make sense as compared with extensive services advice by a car dealer service. I trust him completely.

Find a good mechanic is hard… This lshop is by far, a lot better than any big name shop or car repair… If looking for an honest car repair shop… give them a call… in addition, Mr. Kim’s life is amazing! Not only repairing cars, he is also an artist… his oil-paintings are beyond amazing! Just sharing a bit of a nice short fulfilling conversation I had with him when his team was working in my car! Forgot… descent prices!
